OM Ships International is managed by an Executive Leadership Team chaired by the CEO Peter Nicoll. The team is made up of leaders with responsibility for different aspects of the organisation:
- Public Ministries
- Partner Ministries
- Personnel Ministries
- Corporate Services
- Marine Operations
All activities of OM Ships International are overseen by an external governing board. Meeting regularly, this group holds the leadership of OM Ships International accountable for fulfilling the agreed aim of Bringing Knowledge, Help and Hope to the People of the World.
The Governing Board also fulfils the following roles:
- Provide guidelines for the development of both short and long term strategy.
- Ensure that all income, whether from gifts or other sources, and all expenditures are properly accounted for and approve the annual financial statements.
- Ensure effective pastoral support is in place for the Managing Director/CEO of OM Ships International.
Meet Peter Nicoll
CEO, OM Ships International
Peter Nicoll assumed overall leadership of OM Ships International in April 2009. He has served with his wife and family on board the ships Doulos and later on Logos II, where he was Director. As CEO, Peter is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organisation, including the shore-based functions and the ships Doulos, and Logos Hope.
Peter and his wife Bernice come from South Africa, and live in Carlisle, UK. Bernice is a radiographer at the local hospital. They have three childrenFrances, who works with underprivileged youth; Lyndall, studying at University of St Andrews; and Robyn, about to begin studies at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
Peters passion is equipping and resourcing people to fulfill Gods purpose in their lives. For the last five years he has been leading OM International Personnel Services. Like almost every South African, he is a keen follower of the nations cricket and rugby teams.
