Collection dates for Help Packs 2010 March 14-April 10 OM Ships crew and staff are able to share the Lord through giving out Help Packs in orphanages, hospitals, prisons, schools and homes for the abused all around the world. Help Packs are a simple way to meet the many physical needs and then share Jesus, the most important need of all. Check out this new Help Pack video...
This practical expression of love leads to the message of hope found through a restored relationship with God, through Christ Jesus. We strive to work alongside local churches when giving out Help Packs so that they can follow up and continue to encourage and support those whose lives are changed, even after the ship departs.
Here are acouple of stories from Help Ministry personnel who distributed Help Packs in ports the ships visited in recent months: The Logos Hope Help team visited the Liberty Lodge Boys Home in St. Vincent. Team members were encouraged after playing with the boys, noting how attentive they were when it came time for the team to share their stories, encouraging them to take care of each other and telling them that God loves them.
The School Packs that were given out were such a blessing to the kids, who really enjoyed exploring the contents! Team member Janice McShane (AUS) said, “It was evident that the kids don't receive gifts very often. They were very happy to receive the School Packs from us.”
Here is a note received from Help Ministry personnel onboard Doulos about their visit to Cambodia, where this picture was taken:
One Doulos Help team visited the HIV hospital. It is a really poor hospital. There is one place there for people who are going to die but nobody really cares for them very well. The Help Packs did help a lot.
We returned another day to paint the walls and make a small library for all the children who are in there. We visited many other places during those short 21 days, and by the end of this port visit we were able to give out everything we had."

Open "Thank You" Letter to the Parents and Staff of All Saints Episcopal Day School October, 2009
It has been a pleasure to share the OM Ships Help Pack Ministry with your kids and teachers in chapel. Your school made 156 Help Packs, amazing! All Saints is the first school from this area that has participated, and so with that we will challenge other schools in our area to join you.
Your students did a wonderful job decorating the cloth bags that we put your Help Packs in. In a few weeks they will be given out in Guyana by the Logos Hope crew and local churches. Please pray for this to touch hearts as they hear the message of Jesus and are blessed with your gift.
Thankful for your help and support, Amy K. Smit, Project Help Pack Coordinator.(See Help Packs in Action for more about this special project of All Saints Episcopal Day School.)
During the summer of 2008, a very special Help Pack Lady's team traveled from the United States to the Logos II while it was in Trinidad, to distribute the Help Packs they had helped to create earlier in the year. Click here Help Pack Newsletter to read the August 2008 Help Pack Newsletter, describing their visit to a home for the elderly, an orphanage, and a home for children with HIV-AIDS.
