All activities of OM Ships International are overseen by an external governing board. Meeting regularly, this group holds the leadership of OM Ships International accountable for fulfilling the agreed aim of bringing knowledge, help and hope to the people of the world.

The Governing Board also fulfils the following roles:

• Provide guidelines for the development of both short and long term strategy.
• Ensure that all income, whether from gifts or other sources, and all expenditures are properly accounted for and approve the annual financial statements.
• Ensure effective pastoral support is in place for the Managing Director/CEO of OM Ships International.
