Making a splash

21 Feb, 2009 :: Göteborg, Sweden

Friday morning Logos Hope sailed through icy water into Göteborg, Sweden, her first port of ministry. The ship opened to the public that afternoon with a Captain’s Reception, where Gian Walser, acting director of Logos Hope, encouraged guests to enjoy visiting Deck 4. “It’s not only a place where you can come buy a book and a cup of coffee,” he said, “but also a place where you can meet our international crew and share stories.” The ship will host events over the weekend and the book fair and International Café on Deck 4 will be open 10.00 to 22.00 on Saturday and 14.00 to 22.00 on Sunday. Several teams will also be leaving the ship to connect as much as possible with local people in Göteborg. Logos Hope is not staying in Sweden for very long, but crewmembers want to serve in this town as much as possible while they are here.
