Knowledge, help and hope in Haiti

20 Mar, 2010 :: Kingston, Jamaica

After contributing towards urgent needs of orphanages outside the Port-au-Prince area, OM Caribbean has helped Logos Hope find an appropriate way of responding to the disaster in Haiti. “Since day one, we’ve been looking at how we can respond and at last we can,” stated Events Manager Andy Davies (UK). Because most children have not had schooling since the earthquake, three young ladies will teach a small number of older youth at five of the orphanages how to care for the younger ones. They hope to accomplish this through a two-day children’s programme accommodating 30 to 130 children at each institution they visit. Excited yet knowing things may not go quite as expected, team leader Jessica Edwards (USA) says, “I think there’s strength in our dependence on God and in staying close as a team."
