Privacy Policy

This policy pertains to the collection and protection of personal information held by OM Ships International. It pertains to all personal and financial information and any associated information held by OM Ships International in our databases.


  • "Employee": any current OM worker.
  • "Partner": All other individuals or groups about whom OM Ships International stores information (this includes donors, churches, etc).

Types of information that may be collected

"Personal information" may include the following:
Name, address, telephone number, credit card number or bank account details, donation record, health record (including mental) information, church affiliation, pastors' address or phone number, spiritual background (testimony), previous life history (any personal information which is collected and stored by OM Ships International as part of our normal operating procedures).
"Aggregate information":
In some cases we also remove personal identifiers from data you provide to us and maintain it in aggregate form. We may combine this data with other information to produce anonymous, aggregated statistical information (e.g. number of visitors, originating domain name of the Internet Service Provider), which helps us in improving our products and services.
"Automatically collected information":
We automatically receive certain types of information whenever you interact with us on our web sites and in some e-mails we may send each other. Automatic technologies we use may include, for example, Web server logs/IP addresses, cookies and Web beacons.

  • Web Server Logs/IP Addresses. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer whenever you access the internet. All computer identification on the Internet is conducted with IP addresses, which allow computers and servers to recognise and communicate with each other. OM Ships International collects IP addresses via Google Analytics In order to conduct site analysis and web site performance review.
  • Cookies. A cookie is a piece of information that is placed automatically on your computer’s hard drive when you access certain web sites. The cookie uniquely identifies your browser to the server. Cookies allow us to store information on the server to help make the web experience better for you and to conduct site analysis and Web site performance review. Most web browsers are set up to accept cookies, although you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.   • Web Beacons. On certain web pages or e-mails, OM Ships International may utilize a common Internet technology called a " web beacon" (also known as an "action tag" or "clear GIF technology.") Ten Principles

1. Statement of Intent

While using our web sites, you may be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and e-mail address) in order to receive or use services offered. Such services may include newsletters and competitions, live chats and message boards, and personalised services such as funding updates. By entering your details as requested, OM Ships International will be able to provide you with the services you select. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy. Our services are designed to give you the information that you want to receive. OM Ships International will act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.

2. Collection of Information

Only personal information pertinent to the work of OM Ships International will be collected. This will be done only with your consent.

3. Use and Disclosure

OM Ships International takes your privacy very seriously. Be assured that OM Ships International does not sell or rent your contact information to other marketers. To help us provide superior service, your personal information may be shared within the OM group globally who will safeguard it in accordance with OM Ships International privacy policy.
Personal information will never be used for a second purpose (i.e. a purpose other than the one for which it was collected) without your consent.
At times we may be required by law or litigation to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary.

4. Data Quality

OM Ships International has safeguards in place to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date for the purposes for which it is used. Naturally, you always have the right to access and correct the personal information you have provided. We will endeavour to make any changes within 24 hours of you notifying us of the change.

5. Data Security

OM Ships takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. When personal information is no longer required, it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.
Credit card details accepted on our secure web site are transferred to the bank on industry-standard secure connections, then immediately destroyed. We do not store the credit card details of our partners.

6. Openness

Policies for the management of personal information are available to the public on request. If requested, OM Ships International will disclose what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information. OM Ships International may charge a fee for providing this information.

7. Access and Correction

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information which OM Ships International holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. We may charge a fee for information requests. 8. Identifiers

OM Ships International does not use government identifiers, such as tax file numbers, as its identifiers for individuals. We use our own coding system to identify partners including donors.

9. Transborder Data Flows

OM Ships International does transfer personal data across national borders but this is solely within our global organisation and only as needed to provide you with the services you have requested.
Online credit card processing services are provided to OM Ships International in partnership with OM International’s privacy policy . OM International archives transaction information (not including credit card data) for 18 months in order to comply with banking and credit card handling requirements. This information is available only to personnel involved in financial operations and is not shared with any other part of OM internationally without explicit consent.

10. Sensitive Information

OM Ships International does not collect sensitive information such as race or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, sexual preferences, criminal record or health information, with the exception of OM applicants, during the normal course of application to become an employee.
