Damit unsere Schiffe von Hafen zu Hafen fahren können, brauchen wir bestimmte Fachleute an Bord. Das Global Service Programm bietet Möglichkeiten für Deck und Maschinenoffiziere, Doktoren, Köche, Elektriker, Klempner, Schweißer, Werkzeugmacher, Tischler, Buchhalter, Journalisten, Fotographen und IT-Experten. Gelegenheiten an einem breiten Spektrum der Schiff-Gemeinschaft und öffentlichen Programm-Ereignissen teilzunehmen, werden auch für das Fachpersonal  gegeben.

Während die Möglichkeit zu Einsätzen und Gemeinschaftsevents normalerweise die gleichen wie beim Global Action Programm sind, ist die Länge der Verpflichtung für GS-Leute flexibler. Obwohl wir Fachleute dazu ermutigen möchten, für mindestens ein Jahr zu bleiben, gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, für eine kürzere Zeit zu dienen.

Description:
How would you like to work with an international group of people volunteering at our Florence base helping to present them with mission and the least-reached needs in our world?

The Volunteer Coordinator exists to mobilize and coordinate individuals and groups to become actively involved in the ministry of the Ships Florence office through volunteer service, ensuring that their service is a mutual blessing to them and the ministry.

Requirements:
Volunteer Program
Coordinate and facilitate the receiving, daily scheduling, data basing and follow-up of volunteers in order to ensure the effectiveness of the Volunteer Program.

Core activities
1. Maintain accurate records of volunteer service and information. 
2. Coordinate the receiving of individuals or groups into OMSI’s volunteer program, including participants in the PTI program.
3. Schedule all volunteers into the calendar and relay availability to department heads as appropriate, based on volunteer skillset and interests.
4. Coordinate volunteer accommodation needs with the Executive Assistant.
5. Work alongside the volunteers as time permits.
6. Communicate service of PTI program members to relevant authorities.
7. Ensure that volunteer groups are presented with the mission of OM and opportunities for themselves and their churches to engage with the least-reached.

Volunteer Care
Assist in providing appropriate care for the volunteers in order to enable their service with OM Ships to be a blessing both to them and the ministry. 

Core activities
1. Screen potential volunteers and approve their involvement with OM Ships.
2. Orient volunteers to the ministry of OM Ships.
3. Invite volunteers to sign up for ministry news and appeals.
4. Encourage volunteers during their involvement with OM Ships.
5. Follow up with lapsed volunteers to ensure they are not lost to the ministry through lack of care.


Volunteer Recruitment
Ensure volunteer staffing of individuals and groups in order to facilitate the growth of the ministry.

Core activities
1. Research and create initiatives that would facilitate volunteer relationships and opportunities.
2. Proactively promote the opportunity for volunteers in the local Florence community and in other regions through various media, including print and online.
3. Train and resource volunteers to promote the ministry to others and become OM Ships liaisons in their local church.

Teach our leaders’ children in small classes and invest in first-hand cultural experiences as you visit port cities around the world. Being a member of the on-board community you will receive spiritual input, while living in an international community and being involved in community activities both on-board and onshore. We are looking for qualified and flexible early years and primary teachers to join the school team, working with children within the 3-11 year age-range.

Promote and recruit the STEP opportunities in order to ensure OM offices become increasingly aware of them and confident in sending applicants to Florence.

Description:
For an Electrical Officer we are looking for an skilled Electrical Technician (preferably in the area of Power Production) that has experience in leading and managing a Team. With a minimum of 3 years work experience. Experience in the marine industry would be an advantage but not necessary.
Good interpersonal skills and being a computer literate are vital requirements. You will need to work with MS Office, AutoCAD & and a computer based Maintenance program called AMOS.

Requirements:
• Working in areas will involve work on the following machinery and systems:
o generators, switchboard up to 1000V, motors, control systems, public address system, fire alarm system, bridge & navigation equipment
o computerised systems i.e. AutoCAD, planned maintenance system (AMOS) and PLC (Siemens S7)
• Scheduling, planning, fulfilment & reporting of the on-going maintenance and repair for our vessel
• Carrying out domestic installations, motor installations and installation of automation sensors as part of a continuous programme of upgrading
• Documentation of Upgrades, Fault occurrences & Repairs into our computer based Maintenance software as well as updating of system drawings in Auto CAD and updating of Technical Manuals.
• Qualifications and experience with Electronic and control systems, motor control systems, cable installation & heavy duty wiring, generators and switchboards, maintenance, commissioning and fault finding is of great advantage.
• You have problem-solving skills and manual dexterity.
• With your good interpersonal skills you have the ability to lead a small team (approx. 6 Team members) and are able to contribute to the overall goals of upgrading, maintaining and operating the various electrical and electronic systems on board.

Logos Hope is known as the world's largest floating bookfair and sails from port to port sharing knowledge, help and hope.

We are looking for qualified marine engineers to help keep the ship sailing.

Requirements:
In Port
Work under the leadership of the 1st Engineer and taking full responsibility for maintenance work performed on assigned machinery. 
Perform on-call day and night duties as stipulated by the 1st Engineer in the Engineer’s Duty Roster. Whilst performing such duties, he shall ensure that the Watch keeping Motormen conduct their watches efficiently and are fully aware of their responsibilities and that any particular work given to them by the 1st Engineer is completed satisfactorily. He shall also answer any calls from the Watch keepers for advice or assistance.
Ensure that all records of maintenance, running hours and spares are entered into the computerised planned maintenance and stores system for the equipment under his care.

At Sea
.1 Performing watch keeping duties in the various machinery spaces as required by the Chief Engineer and to be responsible to him for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and systems in his care.
.2 Ensure that the various Machinery Spaces logbooks are filled in correctly to the requirements of the Chief Engineer.
.3 As necessary, complete the various checks indicated on the sailing and arrival in port checklists.

Emergency Responsibilities

Carry out duties as assigned on the Emergency Station Bill. 
Participating in emergency drills, including Fire and Abandon Ship, and other ISM required training and drills.

Description:
In our team, we oversee Sound Lighting and video support for the public events and programs run on board and onshore as well as for the internal programs aboard MV Logos Hope. Additionally we are responsible for all deck 4 audio and video systems, and all meeting rooms’ audio and video systems.

Requirements:
What will be your tasks and responsibilities in this role?

• You are responsible for the AV side of events on board, community events, training services and general maintenance of equipment;
• You work closely with onboard events team coordinators, people development members and worship bands;
• You are the one who uses your knowledge and experience to help ship’s company as far as possible with any AV requests;
• You coordinate specific arrangements and design of lights, sound and video for events;
• You will need to have the basic understanding of how to operate all AV equipment and you will recieve further guidance and knowledge in this area;
• You will be performing in a team but you will need to be self motivated and able to teach yourself on a technical level in Lights, Video or Sound.
 
What are the requirements (skills/competences) for this role?

• You have experience with operating sound systems, light systems and video systems in live events (church, school programs etc.);

- Oversee all aspects of warehousing to ensure efficient operation of the warehouses and appropriate storage and retrieval of stock.

Manage the fleet of vehicles in order to ensure they are kept in good working order and service the needs of OM Ships in Florence.

5. Property Development Projects
Assist the Florence Managing Director in the planning and implementation of property development projects in order to ensure each assigned project is undertaken in a cost effective and timely manner to best suit the needs of the ministry.

As a Carpenter, you work as part of the Maintenance team who is responsible for maintaining adequate and comfort living and working conditions all around the ship. This includes safe and functional interior and furnishing in private, public and work areas, working sanitary spaces, managing fresh and waste water, air conditioning and ventilation, cold spaces, maintain routine check on various equipment and spaces.

What will be your tasks and responsibilities in this role?

• You are responsible of functionality and safety of all indoor areas around the ship by repairing, refitting and modifying existing structures according to different requests. For e.g. walls, ceilings, floors and other surfaces, doors and furniture includes to your area.
• You work as a part of maintenance team and you are responsible to Accommodation Maintenance engineer.

• You have practical skills and technical understanding and you can use common hand tools and electric tools to fix existing or to fabricate new furniture and structure.

• You are able to work independently and have experience in working with threaded fittings, small diameter copper and steel pipes, plastic piping, brazing and soldering, crimped fittings, etc.
